i’ve been bike riding around my neighborhood,

shopping/getting lost in a throng of koreans,

and picnicking in olympic park.

mark’s parents were visiting this month, and as a tradition for parents’ visits, we took them to the noryangjin fish market and insa-dong.

[i took this photo because, despite my suggestions to "think of elyse teacher as an invisible ghost in the room," some kids insisted on me taking their photos with the signature korean two-fingered pose. well, this little guy was too close to my lens, but i love the effect that it produced. the photo turned out very dream-like.]

[we went during "peak cherry blossom season," but it came late this year, so unfortunately, this was one of the only cherry blossom trees we saw.]

[we rode our bicycles on back roads, and it was really neat and different to see the countryside of korea.]

[my somewhat sour/definitely exhausted mood drastically changed once i found a puppy to pet after our long bike ride.]

then, with a relatively stuffed belly, you dive into a heap of rice with seaweed, fish eggs, and butter.

it’s quite a bizarre concept, here in korea. seeing people on the subway motioning to the parts of their faces that they want to alter and peering into windows of cosmetic surgery centers is totally normal.

due to the lack of my postings, let me fill you in on my mundane life.

i obviously haven’t been taking many DSLR photos as of lately. instead, i’ve been taking the easy way out and documenting my everyday life with my itouch’s crap camera.

i found this website which allows you to download your instagram photos to your computer’s harddrive, so i was pretty stoked about that. before i found this website, though, i downloaded instadesk (i was debating between instadesk and carousel), only to find out that yes, you can download photos from instadesk to your harddrive, but rather inconveniently, you may only do so one at a time. needless to say, i won’t be using this overpriced app., and i wouldn’t suggest you do, either.

last weekend, bobbi, ashley, and i spent time in gangnam, a busy shopping district in downtown seoul.

[as always, the streets of gangnam were filled with people.]

it was really nice seeing the countryside of korea, something which i’ve been wanting to do ever since i’ve arrived here.
i haven’t gotten my film developed, but i plan to do so sometime soon.

i’ve been cyber stalking her youtube page for quite a while, and i was happy to see she’s made it big with this soundtrack!

i’m going on a weekend trip to gyeongju this weekend.
